Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF) is an independent organization committed to the
betterment of the city of Bengaluru through collective social engagement.
NBF seeks to
be the preferred platform which empowers every Bengalurean to bring about collective
social impact through ADVOCACY, ACTIVISM and PARTNERSHIP to necessitate change
that guides the future of our city.
Namma Bengaluru Awards for the year 2016 proposed to be given under various
categories to individuals and institutions whether in the public or private sector as an
initiative by the Namma Bengaluru Foundation to thank ordinary citizens and institutions for
their extraordinary contributions to the city of Bengaluru.
All those geographic areas that are covered by the 198 Wards of
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Government employees and executives from the executive or judiciary branches of the government at the Central, State, Corporation, Municipal or Panchayat level/Public Sector Undertakings/Public Bodies or any organization – Central/State/PSU/Any institution created by an Act of Parliament (either Central or State)such as BDA, BBMP, BESCOM and includes government hospitals, government schools, colleges, hospitals who has provided services in the city for the current year as on the date of evaluation by the Jury.
Any socially responsible Bengalurean citizen who has contributed towards the development of Bengaluru, as on the date of evaluation while fulfilling legal and ethical requirements. Achievers include individuals from all walks of life including, but not limited to teachers, doctors, sportspersons, lawyers, activists, social workers etc.
Any socially responsible Bengalurean citizen under the age of 25 who has sustainably contributed towards the development of Bengaluru, as on the date of evaluation while fulfilling legal and ethical requirements. Achievers include individuals from all walks of life including, but not limited to teachers, doctors, sportspersons, lawyers, activists, social workers etc.
Any individual or institution who recognizes a social objective or goal and uses entrepre -
neurial principles to organize, create and manage a venture to achieve a social change and
must have been operating in Bengaluru for a period of atleast 6 months in the last 1 year as
on the date of evaluation by the Jury. The venture may or may not be an institution for profit.
Any individual employed in the media industry who has highlighted social issues of Bengaluru and reached out to relevant audience so as to further the overall development of the city in the last 1 year, while ensuring commitment to his/her professional and social ethics.
Any person whether on his own account or as a authorized representative of an institution
who proposes a candidate for any Category and Sub-Category of the Namma Bengaluru
Awards 2016. Self – nomination is not permitted.
Any person or institution who has been nominated correctly by at least 1 nominator in
accordance with the rules and regulations of the Namma Bengaluru Awards 2016.
Personnel from NBF or appointed / engaged by NBF who are responsible for the conduct
of the awards.
KPMG, an Indian Partnership and a member firm of the KPMG network of independent member
firms affiliated with KPMG International Cooperative (“KPMG International”), a Swiss entity,
process validators to the Awards, as amended from time to time.
Group of persons selected by Awards Management to evaluate the Applicants at various
stages of the evaluation process
